Help celebrate the launch of the new Harmony Community Garden by attending a worm farm workshop as part of launch activities at the Gowrie Community Centre! Gowrie WA provides a range of integrated services for children and families through childcare and early learning programmes, family and community programmes, and training and development.

Rob Gulley is an energy & water auditor who also teaches composting and worm farming. Brenda Conochie is the coordinator of EH and teaches bokashi microbial kitchen composting.
Environment House (EH) is a community group that’s been running its Maylands eco-shop and Foodscraps to Fertiliiser workshops since 2001.

Kevin Smith from the Worm Shed will present a dynamic workshop on how to start and maintain a healthy worm farm, and the production of worm wiz for your garden. Don’t miss this up close and personal encounter with worms – the garden’s friend!
Earth Carers Training Program
Next course begins Wed 12 May 2010
Learn how to reduce waste – and encourage others. This five session course run over three weeks is a free community education program which includes tours, compost workshops, green cleaning, guest speakers and communication tips on minimizing, reusing and recycling waste and spreading the word. Be prepared to be fascinated, shocked, frustrated and inspired!
