Compost WA

Compost WA is recognised as the peak industry body for the Western Australia recycled organics (compost) sector and is a special interest group within the Waste Management Association of Australia.  CWA is working together with stakeholders to expand the market, overcome barriers, and improve the quality of compost to end users.

We provide information, advice and support for people sourcing recycled organic products as well as those within the recycled organics industry.

Our goals:

  •  Develop and advise on industry best practice guidelines for use of recycled organics.
  •  Promote investment in recycled organics to improve current landscape maintenance and management programs.
  •  Foster responsible application of recycled organics products to the land and encourage ecological and economic sustainability.
  •  Grow and develop the recycled organics sector in Western Australia.

Market & Industry Development Officer:

Doug Hall was recently appointed as Compost WA's first full-time Industry Development Officer.  He will work with industry members and stakeholders to achieve the working group's goals by building on the work of the Compost WA committee and Liz Blakeway, the interim industry development officer who was employed part-time for the past 15 months.
